We All Fall Down
‘In death we all fall down'
There is a hush, our own flesh
Betrothed to dirt, buried in the ground
Death will be our guide, turning tears
into ashes dried
As no one ever reads our regrets!
A glossy wooden box penetrates
And buries unexpressed emotions
That were never meant to be found
We never count the steps
Between life and death!
The climb was hard, but the fall
Was only one way down
Our name forever embedded
on a cold stone slab
As we are laid to rest, forever bound!
