Waterfalls

The river flows and flows Though often it appears completely still The current is unceasing Distracted by reflection of bird, tree and sky We do not notice And then, a waterfall appears Like a river, our lives flow on current We can’t know rising change Then one day, a tipping point What took years to reach has arrived And there is no return As we are unaware of this drift, The realization is unexpected And so, like a river, we must fulfill our destiny We must appreciate our strength and Every brook and stream and branch We’ve known along the way We must accept the waterfalls of our lives Not in regret or fear But in their resplendent beauty 7/10/18
