"water Spots"
While I observed
a single drop of rain.
From among the multitude
that pelted my window pane.
So simple were my thoughts,
yet complex in a way.
God had specifically chosen,
this drop to fall today!
My attention being directed,
by God, I must say.
To this particular drop of rain,
that danced as if at play.
As I was soon to discover,
the story it had to tell.
Would be entirely different
from other drops that fell.
As it ran down the glass
it picked up speed.
I thought, in jest, what fool but I,
would pay a raindrop heed?
I knew by then,
this was not mere happenstance.
As a beautiful butterfly appeared,
I took a second glance.
In my selfishness I had seen,
a window washing chore.
But for God's, tiny creature,
this raindrop meant much more.
As the butterfly,
sat tasting heavens brew.
I thought, perhaps God, was telling me,
I needed more to do.
