Wasted Time
Hours, days, weeks,
Years, decades, lifetimes,
I wasted on me...
Thought I was smart...
Yet I couldn't see...
Misery or joy,
Coexisted inside,
My choice which to feel,
And which to hide
And I chose wrongly,
Superficial existence
Lived I,
Now matter how hard,
I could never figure out why,
That twisting, painful
Feeling inside my soul,
Overwhelmed my life,
And in an ever deeper hole,
I dug myself in,
Built up my wall,
Buried myself underground,
Never stood tall
But it's as easy as flipping a switch,
But this I did not see,
Until God and love,
Came upon me
I don't have the wisdom,
I do not pretend,
But one message,
I would like to send...
Love your God,
Love yourself,
That's all that it takes,
He'll lead you out of
The swamp of mistakes...
So, simple wisdom is all
We need to get by,
And you will understand,
What, how and why,
You are part of God,
He is part of you,
This is the only thing,
I am sure is quite true.
