War In the Street

War in the street faces marred by defeat crying, fighting kicking, biting where is the truth they’re refusing? can’t you see humanity is losing? sapphires seeking retribution victims of senseless persecution amnesty road blocked by political futility stubborn leaders breeding this brutality martyrs paving ways brave and proud but signs say, ”NO PROTESTING ALLOWED!" people risking their lives to benefit future generations placing themselves on shelves for the sake of their children's salvation for now, they fall bludgeoned in defeat with hopes of a brighter tomorrow for this bloodshed today in the street ~JSLambert © 2011 JSLambert

Thanks for commenting on my poem: "Those We Love Unconditionally." I'm glad it struck a chord as does this one of yours with me because I've been in Egypt throughout the revolution and it's far from over. (I'm an American expatriot living/working here). Thanks again and I'll try to read more of your work. Terrell (Terry) Martin

Very striking writes my friend. War in the street is spreading like bird flu and taking in its grip not only disturbed nations of Africa but gradually the whole world. When violence, corruption and crime becomes the main news of every newspaper and media channels, the fate of things likely to come can be very easily understood. Thanks for sketching the hard facts of today's world which is spreading in every direction. Love and best wishes...Ravindra...JSLambert

A nice synthesis of the attributes of the entrenched nomenclature and pedestrian freedom fighters who are sparring in the Middle East and Africa. The concise terms in tandem with the short, incisive descriptions make this poem an easy, enjoyable read.
