"War and Peace"

strange birds
flying freedom wings

it was a clear blue sky day
punctuated by white

surrendering
the clear point of morning

a pterodactyl drowning the drill
of cockatoos, galahs and magpies

bleeding bugles
into afternoons and long goodnights

in the darkest moments
light still sings

of war and peace

Yes my poetic friend we have learned to kill with various weapons then pound our chests in self-gratification for our deeds, how sad and useless we have become as a species, turning our world into a garbage dump that generations kill over, my time in the military allowed me to see close up and personal, what are we if not insane the creators of hell or the dreamers of heaven, could that my eyes stayed that of a child, in the distance I hear another bugle playing above a grave beneath a flag

It is even more frightening to learn and understand, that these F-35 are in fact "flying computers" and we all know where A.I. is heading. They say they can control these planes, how do you control A.I. once it has gone renegade, or been comandeered (hacked) by an opponent in war. Very frightening. We have, with our reptilian minds (and most definitely in our halls of political, scientific, military leadership), contributed to the recipe of our own demise. People wait for a saviour (who may arrive in one form or another), but the capacity to save ourselves starts from within, perhaps some would say it is too late and we are on our final course and destination/s. I was reading something by Hemingway the other night, "There is no hunting like the hunting of man, and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it, never care for anything thereafter."

While awesome to watch in a peaceful setting, as the windows shook and with all the noise, I could not help but think, this was only 1 jet fighter and not a sky full of them, in a warzone. I imagine, for the children in a war zone, absolutely terrifying.

Yes Anil, I call it "Au Courant" style. I was besides myself, I just had to write a poem. It was rather exasperating as the jet fighter was at a higher altitude than I could capture, I missed capturing the first fly by, but managed to engage the finale. Fearsome, when you consider this is only 1 and there were many bombarding the recent wars in the Middle East. We now have Russia and the Ukraine looming...and of course there are always the tense relations with China between Australia and America and her other allies. I cannot even imagine how awful war is for citizens (especially the children) on the ground, who really have no say, when in the heat of it all. Let us hope we never see WWWIII. Yes Anil, "Peace" in every language.

A clear blue sky... birds flying on freedom wings ....against it, bleeding bugles... a dual picture of war and peace ! Beautiful juxtaposition

Oh my goodness Valsa, the first flyover was a flypast and so low I could see the pilot winking at me, I was half naked without my handy mobile anywhere on my personage, I made a mad dash to my budouir to cover myself up with some decency and raced back out to the parlour like a Greyhound. I managed to capture a pterodactyl. I agree about your war comment, against it...but it makes you think, that is just 1 fighter jet and Sydney Australia is not the likes of Iraq, Israel, Palestine, Beirut or the Middle East. Still my windows were rattling and the floor vibrating.
