Wanted: Mongoose

WANTED: Mongoose! I need to borrow a mongoose! I'm tired of this snake in my house! And turn that little rascal loose On every lizzard, snake, and mouse! No--wait! Not the lizard. He's fine. But that snake--need to cook his goose! He could stay--OUTSIDE--INSIDE's mine! Nope! There he is! Still on the loose! SNAKE WANTED: A MONGOOSE TO GET RID OF CREEP deborah burch© 5/28/2012

Those mongoose beasts are vicious little mothers. They were transplanted to many Pacific islands to get rid of snakes, but folks found out the little animals are also very fond of chickens. Interesting write.

As a child I read Rikki Tikki Tavi and this brought all of that back. Black snakes eat things in the wild that we want to be rid of so if you can trap it. Just be thankful that it is not a blue racer as they love to chase anything that moves. One thing that is for sure if you had any mice in your house they are gone now. Huggs TLee

Oh, how I love a silly poem Deborah. I didn't know much about the mongoose and have just been reading. He'll eat just about anything but thankfully not human beings. He knows his place!!!

LOL...No, unfortunately, it's a 4-5 foot black snake...at least if it were a metaphor, experience EXACTLY how to deal with them...lol...ahhh country living. .I'm starting to think beach living...lol...love ya, deb ;)

lol, no Justin, I'm in the states...thought about migrating to Oz once...now not without a mongoose ;) they are kin to weezels, originally from Africa...now includes mid east and Asia...even Hawaii ( via import in 1800's) lol I'm a wildlife artist so I research a lot ;) Thanks so much for stopping by...huggs, deb
