Walking and Talking
When Genevieve asks me to walk,
my answer: an emphatic “Yes!”
To stroll the woods and simply hear her talk?
The top of my list, I confess.
I love the world she has in view:
an innocence of fun and good.
A daily hike, it seems, fits nicely too;
that is, of course, if we both could.
I know her sense will change with age:
reality that makes me sad.
For now, I’m happy walking out this page;
there’s not a thing I’d think to add.
