Wake My Heart - In Forever Autumn
Beauty lies in the day,
soft breezes in a powder blue sky
ride along the drying leaves.
They float and fall like browning snow flakes
breathing in the final breath of autumn
with their scent heavy musk in the air.
The sun rise is later every morning,
the sun set dancing in paled ray reflections
of green embers fading into the horizon.
Wake my heart
don't let yourself sleep
don't let the days slip too quick away.
There go the months and then the years
while in a momentary pause
a lifetime passes by.
Wake my heart
rise to the laughter and the tears
that slip into time and disappear.
The beauty is here,
in this very day before your eyes
wake my heart and breathe
before it all slips into the passage of time.
