Visiting Favorite Kin
Are we there yet?
Countryside hills and valleys
End of long idyllic ride
Finally arrived
Cat in the window
Grandma’s house
Polite hellos
Warm hugs
And there it is
Over her shoulder
Dominating the room
Huge white rocking chair
Open arms and glorious
Bathed in sunshine
My heart jumping with glee
As I climb into it
And rock and rock for hours
Long sweeping sways
Loving every moment
No contest, no competition
My most favorite kin of all
