Vicious Cycle

It might still be some jet lag But every night I crash And from the couch into the bed Too early I do dash. So if at half past 7, I’m deep inside a snooze, By 1 a.m. or earlier My brain has paid its dues. I’m wide awake and simply can’t Get back into a sleep. I toss and turn while in my mind All stressful thoughts do creep. Until the sun comes up I try Then just give up and read. My day progresses as it should But what is guaranteed… Is that by 7:30 I’ll be fading super fast, A vicious cycle which I hope Will not much longer last.

I hate to tell you what my sleeping patterns are. Luckily, I am pretty much used to them by now.

I understand these cycles very well. Mine are kind of different from yours. I need to be awake all day, but I like to enjoy my night entertainment, so I force myself to remain a night owl, waking myself up several times in the evening to finish my tv programs and then struggling to sleep at midnight. But eventually I sleep then get up within hours no matter what. At that time, I use my temazapan. Nothing else works for me. Sleep is a hot topic for me. It changes so much with age.

I know how it is! I got up at 4:30 one day. Stayed awake reading for at least two hours. Fell asleep in my chair for a little while. If I had tried to go to bed, would not have fallen back asleep.
