Veterans Day 2019
(A Tribute To Joe D.)

A day for remembering Joe D. who served,
In both peace time and the Vietnam war.
Keep “All gave some, Some gave all” preserved,
It’s a fact too many have chosen to ignore.
Joe fought to help keep our country great,
and spent years fighting on foreign soil.
I pray he passed without harboring hate,
And eternal life, for him, holds no turmoil.
My younger brother Joe was a highly decorated soldier
during his four tours spent in Vietnam.
But sadly War totally changed him
eyes can’t unsee and ears can’t unhear
nor can one dismiss the stench of war.
His ashes were spread on another Soldiers grave.
Today thank a Veteran.
