Vertically Challenged
I am short,
Not challenged.
I am short,
Not handicapped.
I am short,
Not petite,
Not cute,
Not small.
Vertically challenged,
It sounds like a disease.
I may be short, but my height is not a disease,
Not a disability,
Not an issue.
Being short, I can’t see high,
But what advantage do the tall have?
They hit their heads upon branches, shelves, and doorways,
Yet are they called vertically challenged?
I am short, maybe shorter than normal,
Some are tall, sometimes taller than normal.
Everyone has their own height.
Each height with its own challenges.
I am short,
Not vertically challenged.
