Velvet Strands
To you my loving poet
My only true friend
Speak to me of color
Where lilting songs begin
Twine me in your epiphany
Drown me in your muse
Take me from the worrisome worry
Where euphony transcends
Drown me in your cleansing rain
Upon the shifting wind
And place my heart in velvet strands
Over and over again
Reflection-
'Ere the sun sinks
And thy love falls endless
May this moment pause in beauty
To ponder thy kisses
My scarlet rose of love
Betake my spirit truly
As twilight falls gently
At last my heart sings
