Velvet Rose

Velvet Rose By: Tom Wright 5/22/98 Twas as a bud that I first appeared, days later I was gone. Tended daily by those who cared, never fully left alone. Dew kissed my petals to greet the day, for this was life to me. In a gentle breeze I'd sometimes sway, that everyone might see. My petals warmed in, God's, sun rays, fast fading, soon will part. Found neath the bush at end of days, dried petals from my start.
