The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

Vanilla Visions

When the
  moon muses
to the
  melody of memories,
roaming wisps
   of vanilla gently
flow through
   space and time.
Your voice
  echoes through
 scintillating
   sheets of
   unwavering waves,
like lullabies laced
   into silver nightfalls.

Within my
   mourning sight,
invisible feathers
    form into
clouds appearing
      as wings,
swiftly swerving
   and reflecting
perfumed “ forget-me-nots.”
A reminder
   that you’ll always
be gracing our horizons
from
  dusk till dawn.

I’ll savor your
    memoirs within
pastel colored pages of
  my purple journal.
I’ll recite
   your favorite poem,
like
  starlight over groves
of
  silk and ebony.

Tomorrow before
the sky
  tumbles down,
let the
  sunflower stillness speak.
When these
   tears are unlocked,
  rain serenades symphonies
of
  sentimental seconds,
lost to the
  ticking truth
  of fleeting
grains from
   sinister silence.
You’ll feel my words
  rising and
    reaching
     the seventh sky,
beyond unwritten
   woes and throes,
as you
   sway upon a
golden swing
  engraved with
diamond dusts
  and
daphne dreamcatchers.

Dear Ink, I'm captured in the depth and breadth of your poignant vanilla visions. I adore the inspiring imagery evoking such tender devotion to someone lost to you. I was especially moved by "lullabies laced into silver nightfalls" (a mother/child reference?) and "I’ll recite your favorite poem" and "You’ll feel my words rising and / reaching the seventh sky". There is deep haunting beauty in melancholy and mourning. A breathtaking poem touching my soul! Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

There's a glorious refrain in your words Empress, it somehow didn't touch me as sorrowful. I read it as respectful, and full of delightful memories of the one that passed. Her favorite poem, the roaming wisps of vanilla scent, her voice, clouds appearing as wings, perfumed “ forget-me-nots.” A reminder that she’ll always be gracing our horizons from dusk till dawn. Savoring her memoirs within pastel colored pages of your purple journal. This poem is a dedication of respect and love, I am sorry that I cant feel sorrow. It is endearing. Peace be with you dear Empress.

It definitely is sad, sorrowful losing her was tragic, as she was the only parent for my best frnd. And as closest to them was painful. But all i have is respect now and good thoughts and well wishes, so you are right: its a tribute of respect and love. thank you so much for feeling my poem. You definitely are a deep reader and feeler of words
