Quite true, it's a waste of money and lot of unnecessary pressure. You couldn't have expressed it with much honesty. Congrats, Jan.

I used get half dead carnations with the weekly shop....the 99p sale sticker on full view. To this day I loath them. In the end, I had to say "Please don't bring me those anymore."

I guess the thought was there jean lol - I love carnations but buy my own flowers as i can get the colour combinations I love - will get some on son's behalf for my birthday - pointless him spending a fortune sending me them by post :-) hugs Jan xx

I couldn't resist a cynical take on the theme in 25 years we have never celebrated:-) hugs Jan xx

Is that "free" a limited time offer, while supplies last? Just kidding, you gotta love a romantic poem titled Valentine's Day Sucks. It doesn't get more romantic than that. :) Honestly Jan, your poem is exactly right. Love is everyday, not just one highlighted day a year on the calendar.

In 25 years of marriage we have never celebrated Valentines Day with over inlated priced gifts - my cynical poem is about as romantic as it gets lol:-) hugs Jan xx
