Rhyme, a look back (Rock n Roll Days and Pretty Gals)

Up Around The Next Bend, Walking Our Traveling Bones I long for those days when body was fast, mind was faster earth was a wonderful place and I was its master. Reality was what a youthful mind and soul made it out to be we yearned to have it all and still live our lives free. What wonderful dreams that fantasy world once held until the forest was no more, every tree was felled. Time was the great enemy we thought we could defeat we found we could not, even if we dared to cheat! Up around the next bend, walking our traveling bones no talking around the world on our handy cell phones. We said our sweet words to pretty gals face to face I regret sweet times that Time changes did so erase. I sit here, dreaming of wild youth and my distant past. Crying out loud- O' why- why the hell couldn't it last! Robert J. Lindley 3-05-2018

'Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana'. If only we could relive our youth, we would dine greedily at it's table and waste nothing, Robert. A fine write. Regards,VIv

I think one day all of us will feel like this, we all reflect back on our youth and wonder why and why not.. sigh.. But, I guess it is too late and when we are young we do not realise... Excellent poetry my friend...

Hi Robert, a wonderful write, feel the same myself somedays, looking back into the past and wondering why things can't be that way. In writing this i still look forward to what is round the next few bends for me. This is a wonderful poem as your poetry always is. I think i am back again. Just noticed in Phyllis' comment that it is your birthday. Happy Birthday my friend, have a wonderful day. This one has to be a fave. Have a wonderful Monday. Your friend always....Mike.
