Notes About The Poem

Listen to poem:

Unrequited Love

UNREQUITED LOVE

The seals around my heart are breaking
Long ago broken, from a heart forsaken
Years of unrequited love, has awakened
As I’m so much to blame, was mistaken

Long ago broken, from a heart forsaken
My heart has lost its rhythm and its soul
As I’m so much to blame, was mistaken
Created on fake ground has lost its goal

My heart has lost its rhythm and its soul
Heart over mind, not accepting the truth
Created on fake ground has lost its goal
Leaving my soul open to so much abuse

Heart over mind not accepting the truth
I could not, or I wouldn't read the signs
Leaving my soul open to so much abuse
Ignorant I didn’t read between the lines

I could not, or I wouldn't read the signs
You never wanted me I just couldn’t see
Ignorant I didn’t read between the lines
I always blamed you, but it was just me

You never wanted me I just couldn't see
So my heart withers, within its own pain
I always blamed you, but it was just me
All that time as trouble without any gain

So my heart withers within its own pain
Years of unrequited love, has awakened
All that time as trouble without any gain
The seals around my heart are breaking
