How elegant, sir gent. Sad to look back on unrequited love.

Often we think, 'if only I knew then what I know now,' but wisdom comes with later years. Welcome back, Gershon. :D

This reminded me of Shakespeare's play "Twelfth Night". The duke named Orsino loved Olivia without ever really getting to know her. Good rhyming here.

You are way, way ahead of me as far as Shakespeare is concerned. Other than his 'big' tragedies --- Hamlet, Othello, Lear, MacBeth, and Caesar -- I'm pretty much in the dark. (Except for 'The Merchant.') Good for you, Robert, and thanks for the enlightenment! ~ With a tip of the cap, Gershon

Nicely done Gershon. I can feel the emotion in this. We look back on memories and realize how fleeting this life is. Well done. God Bless, JB

So moving and well said, gw, especially 'look back's lament' - don't we all have those if-only regrets! Well penned, and am happy to see your return :)
