I surely do remember
When the year in its prime
Mid-August~Septmeber
How she hated the time
Just not enough morning hours
Way too much heat and sunshine
The disappearance of showers
And the humidity combined
Then during the September
Gales, her fears arose
There were as I remember
Her many, many throes
Colorful the late flowers
Drawing butterflies
She could not go out that hour
Mosquitoes bites besides
How beautiful a morning
Before the oppressive day's heat
And pleasant coos of the mourning
Doves, what a wonderful treat
She would find a cool chair
Beside an airconditioned
Vent, while away hours fair
Undress~ unpartitioned
I surely do remember
When the year in its prime
Mid-August~ September
How she hated the time!
