Unforgettable

Today I made the grocery list For delivery. The breads, the turkey Slices, and ham, the lettuce For salad Which led to discussing tomatoes; The yogurt, milk, cream; peanut butter; tissues even, But, oh confound! I forgot cake! How do I forgive myself that? ————————————————————- (c) sally young Eslinger 3/14/21

This poem takes us into the everyday business of preparing a shopping list. The poetess is on top of everything, even having discussions about items, and then the realization that something has been overlooked. Self recrimination brings us to a place we all have been. Well done

Nice comment, Michael! The self-recrimination came for the same reason it caused the writing of the poem: I Love Cake! No cake…No happy! Hahaha. Wishing you happiness!

Cute write. I can personally avoid the cake since I presently have to watch my sugar intake.

Hi Robert, watch my sugar intake, too. I’ve had type 1 diabetes 61 years. Have worn a pump about a decade. Can bolts for all carbs. Cake seems to bother my b.s. less than plain bread. Go figure... thanks for commenting.
