Understanding Vs Acceptance
Don't try to reside within my head
Transforming me to be like Joe or Sam.
Merely try to be a friend instead
Accepting me, like God, the way I am.
For you can't crawl into my skin
Or experience first hand, my pain.
Unless you've walked where I've been
You shouldn't hold me in disdain.
Thoughts I have, How can you know?
Unless opting with you to share.
When through unrest I chose to go
I didn't leave our friendship there.
Realizing that I fit not into your mold
And allowing no clutter in my head.
For God, gave individually, a lot to hold
Don't try to transform me, accept instead.
In others, seek good, and it you'll find
Judge not on looks, faith or creed.
For in my intellect there hangs a sign
My thoughts are for friends, it reads.
