Underlying Beauty
Underlying the meaning of the beauty in the breeze
watching with apprehension as all good things tumble by
washing down a mellow yellow and the dust of the day
wishing white shoes were never worn in December
Pounds reverberate a helpless sound
sleeping on the floor with one eye opened
the road to redemption covered in soot
and it's been a long time coming
The river flows fighting against the tide
spirits slowly merging within holy waters
almost held without tears falling back in time
but the scars release and I finally see inside
