brushed by the blushing Fontainebleau, blooming with rainless foliage, like a poem kissed by the green… I sigh as thoughts wander in saffron silence, in the echoing warmth of your breathing silhouette... we are beyond wraiths of wildflowers, waltzing through the wilderness, sipping honeyed drops of sunlight, whilst specks of citrine soar above olives~ merging in mystical mists of magnetic gold, oblivious to the spectral leaves thriving within inner forests, veiling the vindictive vines painted with ice-corpse colors of life. O time, cloaked in cryptic clouds~ in a world that cares not for the forgotten, let the fields of fervent petals dress the untouched trees with butterfly-blue blurs, as peace is more than a mere noun, nestled between framed figs… and to heal is to heed the harmonized~ hymns mirroring soft springs of Eden, where l o v e is an aesthetic array ribboned with amorous emeralds~ scattered across meadows lost in redolent reveries. I speak to the breeze, cradling the balmy boulevard in hushed tones~ to unfreeze the wintry thistles, to untangle complex chords of woes piercing the pained canvas aching within my mind.. for in the layered heart of external pleasures, there I’ve found the palette~ that homes not regrets and troubles but elevates the m a g i c of sketched solace… the verdant of swirling hope fine-tuned strokes of sage~ sun-soaked distraction, a memory of soulmates tied to the timeless roots infused with trust ...

A well deserved placement ma cherie! You see beneath reality...to reality! As the artist does and, yes, the softer, more romantic interpretation is the same I feel. Not that what "I Feel" makes it correct, but truly, his paintings reflect (to me) what he wished to be except for his self portraits, which are more like Dorian Gray? Strange, perhaps, that those with a settled/peaceful exterior have underlying turmoil, yet those in turmoil might have (otherwise) peace...or, at least, a wish/dream for it?

Dear craigsz, you always are so soulful in how you perceive things and individuals too, you have a deep understanding of emotions. I see what he wishes to see in this world in paintings such as in the starry night, which shows a surreal dream of what he dreams of unlike his self portraits you are so right. In this artwork i found a bit of heaviness just a little because of how the figures were painted, it did make me feel theres something a bit deeper there in terms of emotions. But you are so right about what youv said here in comments and im honored to receive your thoughts truly. Always. Sending you light

Your conceptual rhythm, continuity of meaning coupled with your skillful alliterative rhythm is throughout this poem is impressive. Very strong finish, emphasizing the truth of the painting itself. Delightful spirit you endow the colors with. Your alliterative talent blooms in this work Master Poetess...Van Gogh would be very happy with your vibrant vision. "O' time cloaked in cryptic clouds..." the 3rd verse is awesome! A FAV!! J.A.B.

Dear Ink, you really created magic here! As I read your words I was transported into Van Gogh's vision for his painting, which encapsulated hopes, dreams and sadness about what could never really be. The imagery came alive with crystal clarity. Your word choices are just mesmerising to create something so otherworldly and poignant. Spectacular writing that captured the crushing beauty of desolate thoughts. Thank you for putting so much into your poem, it really is outstandingly beautiful

Congratulations Ink on top spot in Dilly’s contest, you put so much into this piece it’s difficult to know where to start, perhaps (veiling the vindictive vines painted with ice-corpse colours of life) the alliteration and paradox of colours works perfectly, the overall tone throughout the poem captures the duality of Van Gogh’s mindset, no easy task! I am delighted to share the podium with you, even if one step down lol! Cheers David

Dearest inky, how could I go past anything on Van Gogh? I was not disappointed of course. Your words are a breathtaking dance of nature and emotion, weaving together a tapestry of color, light, and longing. The way you paint imagery—'wraiths of wildflowers waltzing through the wilderness' and 'butterfly-blue blurs'—creates a dreamlike atmosphere that lingers in the mind like an enchanting melody. Good luck in the contest...Hugs

This painting of Van Gogh itself is so attractive. First I thought of joining this contest, but had no time to think of anything as I have been so tied up. Besides. I knew that before poems of this kind, mine would be so bland. So I gave up my desire. "we are beyond wraiths of wildflowers, waltzing through the wilderness, sipping honeyed drops of sunlight," The introduction of the two figures is so apt. The concluding lines- "a memory of soulmates tied to the timeless roots infused with trust" ... What more can be said of this pair lost in the woods who have sought shelter from all other distractions! Simply impeccable dear Empress!

IE, I read this and realize how small the two figures are in relation to the surroundings. Your words are a find tribute to the painting and pay homage to the brush strokes and currents that seem to be there almost magically. Van Gogh really pushed the limits of reality, and you do the same with your words. Quite something. Smiles!!

My dear Ink Empress, this is stunning beyond words! I dunno where to start praising this magnificent piece inked from your golden quill, the way how beautifully you've interpreted the painting by Van Gogh, feeling everything more than textures and colours, whilst giving them their own language to dance upon the canvas of poetry. The emotions, depth and timeless feelings that you've captured here, ahhhh just stole my heart! Absolutely love so many lines here "brushed by the blushing Fontainebleau, blooming with rainless foliage, like a poem kissed by the green…" That opening is literally one of my most favourites!! "O time, cloaked in cryptic clouds~ in a world that cares not for the forgotten", "for in the layered heart of external pleasures, there I’ve found the palette" My gosh! And thay ending, so powerful and serene!

Your use of colours and gems here is so gorgeous, blending everything so splendidly together! It almost feels like those soulmates are above all the materialistic layers of this world, no matter how much people try to chain their happiness, they are like that timeless wind that will defy the destiny. A forever memory!! Immensely heartfelt, soul-stirring and miridical! One of my favs from you!!! Keep shining and writing my gorgeous fairy goddess, sending so much love and light ~
