Under the Surface
Deep in the recess of my mind
dreams inform my life
They tell of a handsome, confident man
free from tears and strife
They show a man with many friends
who is loved by all
A man who is smart and successful as well
standing straight and tall
If only now I could awaken
and see that it’s all true
I fear that only in my dreams
will I ever have this view
