Under Oath

How can a person who lies under oath Be given a job or appointment or both With lifetime prestige and with salary growth? It’s easier than it may seem. For Thomas and Kavanaugh, Barrett as well, The hand in the Bible just didn’t compel The truth from their lips, as the lies they did tell Didn’t stop them from joining the team. We watched and we listened, our faces aghast, As fictional statements in court were amassed, Yet everyone knew that the die had been cast And each one took the title Supreme. Now the Court is divided; it’s 6 against 3 And that, for the long run, is how it will be, A future that’s scary as hell to foresee, As we inwardly shudder and scream.

As I wrote Biden, the Justices are in error as their judgment conflicts with our internationally agreed legal definition of "Live Birth" aka "Live Born", and is based upon their unfounded conclusion that life begins in the womb rather than when "the breath of life is inhaled through the nostrils" as explicity defined by their alleged god, so they should be arrested for practising medicine without a license! Well said, Ilene! Aloha!

I feel your pain my friend even if I can't support late term abortions. I know Justices have to decide each case on its merits without bias. There own personal feeling cannot influence their decisions. The case they we're trying was an over reach by the abortion lobby. They brought it on themselves by pushing late term abortions which even the majority of women do not support. Read the majority opinion by the justices and don't react to the half truths you hear on CNN. You'll feel better.

Ilene, I did not mean to be argumentative. I find most of these hearings are to let the senator of the opposite side pontificate in front of the camera for their constituents. Justices almost never play their hand; the only way anybody knows about them is by reading their written opinions on specific cases. In that regard, I don't think Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, or Barrett were a surprise to anyone. I like the tail rhyme, btw :-)

In my humble opinion, we hear what we want to hear, myself included. Both said it was precedent, which is akin to saying, "The Supreme Court is in Washington, D.C.". Gorsuch indicated it was "the law of the land", also a true statement, and that it should be treated like all other precedents. Plessy v. Ferguson was precedent too. Thank goodness it was overturned. RBG used a lot of weasel words, Ketanji Brown Jackson would not even declare what a woman was. I think you'll not find actual perjury.

I couldn't have expressed my disdain for the process and the result any better. I never thought I'd live to see the day when I'd been frightened and threatened by the Supreme Court of our land. I'm afraid that time has come!
