Unchanged

I have never changed resisting all the dress codes, procedures and protocols. Despite the efforts of so many authorities over me, it was I who allowed them occasionally to be in charge; but I was still the one who made the final call. I remained the person that I was meant to be, me, myself and I. Abandoned as a child at only three, my self sufficient, independent ways showed resilience and defiant determination come what may. I pushed back against them all, defying what they did they could not make or break me; now here I am, still present and demanding their respect. Here I stand. Still here, still strong, still I, myself and me, unchanged.
