unbared

Our needs are boundless -
our wounds sensitive -
better not to bare them
- lest we invite opinion,
debate and comparison,
or worse yet, sympathy (euuww).

Dear Anais, It really hit home for me. Your exploration of our boundless needs and sensitive wounds is so raw and relatable. I love how you capture the reluctance to expose our vulnerabilities for fear of judgment or unwanted sympathy. The songs you mentioned perfectly complement the themes in your poem. This is a thought-provoking piece! - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

The or worse yet…often we don’t want that…we want respect and help. Hate when people give a side laugh, etc.. Hope you find someone to listen with great sensitivity! A great write!

Thanks, I have a lot of close friends but I don’t have a lot of substantial worries - besides my next semester stress - and my wounds are far too old to do anything about now.
