Unable To Sleep
Unable to sleep, I pull out my book of memories. I open to the chapters about Cyprus. They are many. I've lived more in that enchanted isle than in any other place in the world. My mind caresses each memory as I wander through each room of my home, remembering where everything was placed...afraid that time will erase...the beauty that I trace. A time when my family was complete, whole, an entity of three...sweet unity. A place where I could drive....wild and free, just being me, speaking a language with a cadence that cheers my soul, making me whole. Last night...I couldn't sleep!
