Ul 6 - 2955

If you’re a certain age, I’ll bet That stuck inside your brain The numbers of your telephone From youth must still remain. For way back when you memorized That sequence, it did stick, Like Velcro, to your brain cells; You can summon it real quick. There once was lots of room in there For things we learned by heart – Addresses, passwords, ID codes And credit cards, to start. But over time, the Velcro wears And things will not adhere Yet strangely, numbers from the past Still stand out, loud and clear. For all who may have dialed UL 6 – 2955, That number’s out of service But in me it did survive.

I'll always remember the license plate number to the car that the thugs were driving who mugged me back in the early 80's. And I'll bet they wished they would have considered that then huh? :/

AM2-1283 for me... your poems are always entertaining, and you are such a keen observer of the human condition... I used to have a whole bevy of birthdays and anniversaries committed to memory but am finding them starting to slip away.

Yup! Maybe you can start a collection. Mine was ID2-1006 / Idlewood 2-1006 / 432-1006. Betcha you get into some 'heavy raps' on all the numbers you'll score. ~ Fake Freak-out Artist
