Ufo Limerick(Unidentified Faulty Organization)

Echoes heard from Mars to Pluto Sound the alarm on alien radio Jupiter cried, cause Saturn's ring was lost "Repeat" no matter the cost! Heathcare for all, pay it again, Sammy-o For Carolyn Devonshire's Limerick contest Thanks Carolyn!! It was fun! There is an old Humphrey Bogart film with the quote"play it again Sam" That is what gave me the idea for the play on words. did not mean to offend anyone. I was just trying to make a rhyme with pluto. If you noticed this limerick makes no sense, like what's going on in Washington DC with the healthcare form and reform! (**)

Doris - I will not pretend to understand American politics - Its bad enough understanding it in the Uk - But I do take take umbrance at the use of the word "Sambo" - I find this a derogatory term and totally unnecesary in this day and age - I know that you have changed it to "Sammy-o" and for that I applaud you - But whether anyone wants to admit it or not when the word "Sambo" is used it is used as a racial slur against black people - And that is one thing that I will not tolerate - Ever -:)

I was not name calling--It is just humor and trying to make a rhyme. If you don't get it don't read it.

Doris, do not let this episode deter you from remaining on the Soup. We have never met, i know your mom, and i know you from the poetry i write of which you know i do, but you decline from reading. This highlights the real you, and racism will never be a part of you, not one word - not ever. So please keep writing > kindest regards >> James

Doris, thanks for changing the last word to sammy-o. Although I do not agree with the content of this poem, I can appreciate parodies and political humor that do not involve name calling. Let me just leave it at that. I have always known you to be a decent woman, so I hope we can all deal with each other's many differing views on the soup with decorum! LUv, Andrea

Doris, Frank Herrera feels the reference to Sambo was a poke at Obama. Is that what you intended? I didn't see that in this poem at all. Check out Frank's blog and let me know. My mind just doesn't work that way. Love, Carolyn

I LOVE the political humor in this poem, Doris! The health care legislation is unconstitutional and many states are going to challenge it in the courts if it wins final passage. Congrats on your success in my contest. Love, Carolyn
