Two Worlds
He sits in a room,
with a TV and crayons.
She sits in a room,
with tech and friends.
He is not unhappy.
She is oblivious.
It is not fair,
but it is true.
I have failed,
to instill
empathy.
I have failed,
to instill sympathy…
for others,
or at least,
those we
should love…
and hold dear.
Forgive me.
I was a sad mother,
that forgot,
not all birds fly.
Some walk fast,
and never,
leave the ground.
They are by far,
at times…
the most beautiful,
to be found
anywhere.
