Fire flames unfurl, morphs in the grim distant horizon. Smoke whirls as music blares and time to close; Empty bottles to dispose. His soccer team lost, Cost its chances at winning a gold medal. At the end of the night, he didn't get the girl, Had to settle and curl up with his dog Pearl. 3/1/2022

Curling up with Pearl may have been much nicer than curling up with a girl. The photo shows this.

This sounds like a very familiar happening. I like the poem, Eve.

Eve, so visual and visceral all at the same time - the smoke, the tavern, the empty bottle and two dashed dreams! Thank goodness for the blessings of the "pearls" in our lives! Sending you blessings! This one covers the waterfront of emotions!
