Two Silly Greatest Fears
A fear of the unknown
is sometimes greater than the fear itself
I have endured many operations
yet, there are two procedures
that really put the fear of god into me.
I look at my feet and waiting for a twinge
am inclined to pamper them slightly
encourage the nails to behave
because…. shivers run up my legs
when I think about the small op
for an ingrowing toenail.
I end up in a cold sweat.
Secondly, please I pray
Don’t ever let me need a
Cataract removed,
the thought of a needle, coming towards my eyes
makes me nearly want to wee.
Call me a wimp,
I will hold my hands up.. saying
“Yes I am”
