Two Lifes Separate But Devoted
Martha and Mary were truly real
people that lived over 2000 years ago
when Jesus lived around their town
their love for Him they would show
Martha was ever so very busy
never having a moment to spare
always serving and rushing about
a moment to be still was very rare
Mary was one willing to learn
when Jesus came around to visit
she would hang on His every word
at His feet she would pleasantly sit
Both these women truly devoted
in their own way to their master
each in their own individual ways
committed to Jesus as their pastor
They both can teach us many lessons
on what they showed to truly serve
our great God and saviour Jesus Christ
stay faithful and true holding our nerve
(Luke 10:38-42
As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one.[a]Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”)
