scent of grass
in the waterfall's mist . . . 
your breath on my cheek

 pink blossoms
against a blue sky. . . .
my mother weeps

forgot to answer this question of yours. No, I have not tried teaching them haiku. I don't teach things that allow me to incorporate poetry.

Way to go for the contest..Reads like a winner to me..Thanks for the honor of being honored in your contest..I did not know that there were suppose to be eight syllables per line..I missed that when I read about quatern..I saw that there was not set meter and missed the other part..Sara

Excellent poetry here! Hope you are enjoying the warmer days! Went to a reading yesterday in Manhattan and sold a book and traded for another book. Do you go to readings where you live?
