Two From the Tombs
... there met Jesus two possessed with devils,
coming out of the tombs ...
Matt 8:28
Two untamed men,
fierce as any animal ever seen
Two possessed souls,
living naked among the unclean dead things
Two from the tombs ...
couldn't be fettered,
so as slaves, they couldn't be used;
unable to be kept chained,
they couldn't be placed in servitude
They dwelled among the dead,
and terrorized the living everyday
No man could subdue them,
no one would even dare walk their way
Until they met Jesus Christ,
boldest man to ever cross their path
Two against one,
the ghouls sensed an easy win doing the math
Because two was more than just two, more than just a roll of the dice,
no, two was in fact a Legion ---
over two thousand devils fighting against Jesus Christ
But the Son of God cast them all out,
cast them devils all into a herd of swine
Sent them over the edge of the mountain cliff,
plummeting down to their death, oh so swift
Then the two men from the tombs
sat with Jesus, fully clothed and in their right mind
They wanted to follow the Lord,
for giving them salvation they could never find
But Jesus told them to stay home and publish
to everyone the great mercy of God they were shown
The two men from the tombs obeyed Jesus Christ,
and their testimony to every generation is now forever known
