Listen to poem:
Spoiled with attention
Love and devotion
Lucky little grand-daughter
Adored by her grand-mother
It was the end of summer days
School sale signs throughout the maze
I spotted a braided turquoise belt
Seemed pretty and different was how I felt
I didn’t want it or need it but
To my surprise my grand-mother offered to buy it
I gave in to that capricious inkling inside
Knowing full well she hadn’t much money set aside
Mauve was her dearest color most divine
I knew turquoise forever would be mine
