Good one Jan! I've always had a spot in my heart for limericks. The talk about vegans reminded me of the saying.....If you care so much about animals why are eating their food?? Also....Vegetables aren't food, Vegetables are food's food!...Silly...xx...Pat (From the future)

Congratulation's on your win Jan. my husband bought a ham this year. I seldom eat meat. I have great disdain for the way most animals are raised and then slaughtered. I haven't had a hamburger and 28 years. I enjoyed your poem. Blessings, Connie : )

My son has turned vegan since he left home which must be a challenge from being a meat eater but it seems many students are making this decision - I understand there is a video they have been watching which makes them change their eating ways. :-) hugs Jan xx

I remember back in 1997, we had a turkey as a pet, for two years. Then, on the following Christmas day, we had it for dinner. It sat on my right :) x

Ah, if only everyone were vegetarians – but then they'd find an excuse not to eat them because they too are living things. Can't win. I'm working on a long turkey poem entitled Turkey Ghost. Will post ASAP. Thanks for the stop, Jan, and take care. / M
