Try and Hoodwink Me
People are always asking me if I know this, that or the other.
I am not often bumfuzzled or hoodwinked by adults,
They usually have a tell, which they exhibit, totally unaware.
My older cousin, Jimmy, has a left eyebrow that raises ever so slightly when he is trying to fool me.
It mystifies him when I call him on it; he refuses to play poker with me now.
I am rarely confused by either of my siblings, as they have subtle facial indicators which I have been noticing since I was quite young.
Adults rarely mystify me.
Children, on the other hand, can confuse and twist me around all day long.
For some reason, I believe every single solitary thing that they say.
I have no idea why, but it has served me well.
Even when they bamboozle and fool me,
I never hold a grudge.
They are children
After all, and it
Is rather easy to forgive them
Which I do every day if I have to.
It has served me well.
Was that your eyebrow?
