Truth

Truth is not for everyone --
some prefer lies...some prefer
dyes, and not natural soul color.
Some prefer love~ and some just mouth
the word...never to be heard nor
felt deeply nearer the heart. It's like that with
most things, the prose and cons of openly
living as opposed to falsely revealing:

Some contrive a story-line, while other
authors bare their internal organs, whether
well or wildly diseased! No composition
ever entirely cured beyond remission,
the literary beast, fed, caged,
though only temporarily appeased.

Really thoughtful piece—loved the contrast between truth and performance. That last line hits deep!

You are a deep thinker! I love that! If I do write a character, I try to get into the mind. Blessings!

Hi Kim; I agree. One should mentally/emotionally live, at least during the write, the intricacies of one's poem or tale. Have a great writing day!!

That's life. Unfortunately the greater numbers are the liars.

I really think that, most people are relatively good. The real bad ones just get the attention, and seem the dominant species. We give them too much credit. Too much power.

Great topic well expressed, Joe. Thoughtful poem.

Hi Andrea; Truth is everything...more important than image. Without truth, the soul, the spirit has nothing exterior to relate to. We are then empty shells. Void of meaningful substance and worthwhile reason.

Hi Joe; hope all is well in Joe Land. We keep trying, all we can do. Victory perhaps, in the Afterlife from trying. A 100 percent nowhere on this earth.

A 64,000 dollar question!? I ask everyday...every poem I write. Don't know that truth was ever here more than brief times, holy journeys. The commercial world measures truth by what a man accomplishes of factual notoriety...while I look more at all I avoided becoming. A proud nobody. A good excuse?:) Thank you my friend.

"some just mouth the word...never to be heard nor felt deeply nearer the heart". So rightly expressed. Some people never pay enough attention to what is said. Words simply flow over them as water over an upturned pot. A meaningful poem, dear Joe.

Yep. Truth is not a belief, it is a state of being. Sort of like, anyone can write a poem...but to be a poet is notch up. No Truth in AI.

Very well said! Some prefer love~ and some just mouth the word…and the miss the point; and the depth…they think they enjoy the source of their lust, but they miss everything! God bless you, Joe!
