Notes About The Poem

Trust Him

We pray, sometimes, for our own wants Or the things we need to live Not thinking of God’s will at all Or what He wants us to hear We pray, some days, for blessings Or treasures found on earth Not considering God’s purpose In all that we think, do or say We pray, during moments of worry For our anxiety to go away Never reflecting on God’s reasons For not giving us serenity this day We pray, many times for answers That will give us what we desire Not contemplating God’s nature Which is true to the one who trusts We pray, without truly realizing Our aspirations aren’t all to remember God works everything together for good To those who love Him as they should We pray, thinking He might fulfill a wish Never imagining that He knows best And whatever He answers, have faith Know that He responds with true grace We pray, but do we trust Him to give us His best, the blessings that come when We have been saved, forgiven, washed In the blood of the One who died for us Sweet Jesus Romans 8:28 King James Version (KJV) - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Really too beautiful. I find myself speechless! The Creator knows our needs. I know He is not Santa Claus as I once thought. He is the man in charge of all people and the universe. Panagiota. Xxx

In school a nun once told us that God receives many prayers of petition, asking for favors. She said it's prayers of thanks and worship that God doesn't hear often enough. I often pray for answers, but as you say, God provides us with the help we need. You've written a beautiful poem, Regina. I adore spiritual poetry. Hugs, Carolyn

Excellent Regina. Everything here is so very true. We should pray the way Jesus did, "Not my will but thine be done." Great stuff, God Bless, JB

As long as I have lived, my prayers are still imperfect, but I will keep on praying and hoping. Your poetry is so very lovely and encouraging.
