Trust
I gave you my heart, it trusts to rest
perfectly in the cup of your
hands, so I gave you my
heart to hold, to carry over a
river of broken dreams, over
the shards of a life past , to an
intensity of true love desired,
but you became weak, unable
to hold my heart forever, you
reached out to take another,
mine discarded, drifting, torn,
a fading heartbeat,
dead echoes of emptiness,
Now...
in this time of need, I ponder,
to trust another , vulnerable I
look to you, I share these
words that belong to my heart,
and in this intimate moment, I
give my heart to you, to carry
over a river of broken dreams,
over the shards of a life past,
to an intensity of true love
desired, but I fear it to fall
again, so handle this heart with
care, it trusts to rest perfectly in
the cup of your hands,
