The evening's trappings were misty twilight
my love enters like a painting come to life
a vision I dreamed in a sunset's gaze of wishes
when I looked to the sky and wondered
if God could create a woman of breathless beauty

Whose dark eyes of brown were liquid
and mysterious with a wellspring of passion
tender and abiding with kindness
illuminating her beauty even more

She embraced my soul with her beguiling essence
and warmed the realm of my heart's paradise
    offering an elixir of passion
that kept my soul from earthly needs
where I was tethered to her love
    of unimaginable beauty
as we bathed in the glow from our hearts
and found a glimpse of heaven
    that held us breathless

A breathtaking poem as always dear Frederick, you do that just effortlessly, in every poem you write especially on romance i see such beauty that emanates so much warmth and so much more and your subtle wordplay is brilliant here, and gives an evocative touch especially in lines "an elixir of passion" and "wellspring of passion" as well as "and found a glimpse of heaven that held us breathless" how soulful!
