Tricks in the Dark
Evil does not need to be,
ever in the shadow.
In fact, it likes to walk,
among us… best.
It hides and tries to pretend,
In plain sight!
To be a friend,
a lover with trusting arms,
a kind person,
that has a plan.
If you do not see,
all that is before you,
you have not asked
to be saved…
If you do not know,
what is before you,
you will still,
account…
for your stupidity,
your pride,
and your…
naivety.
It is not the same as,
unknowing.
It is denial.
The favorite joke,
told among dark-lings
that follow us home,
if we do not cut…
the string,
of sin
and
deceit.
Something we can not do…
Alone.
