Tribute To Connie Marcum Wong
I couldn’t so delightful an autumn poem write
As dear Connie Marcum-Wong, so admired,
For colorful leaves falling in gentle breezes
Have not the muse our dear Connie inspired.
She was more beautiful than golden russet leaves
And therein I find genuine similarity as I write
Of September here in old Kentucky’s grandeur,
Connie, in Hawaii, never gave up the fight.
Providence like the inevitability of the seasons
Took her to reside in the glory she had earned
Just as the dying leaves nurture in the spring
Sweet Connie is still nurturing us, I’ve learned.
