Trapped In the Pirate's Lair
Caught up in a world of fog and haze
Oblivious, she nurses a ‘left-over high’
A sultry summer’s night; an unending maze
Caught up in a world of fog and haze
As she plays marbles on the stoop, in a daze!
Barefoot on lush green; wild flower in her hair
Caught up in a world of fog and haze
A Treasure-bearing vessel, trapped in a pirate’s lair!
Caught up in a world of fog and haze
As sun rise absorbs the fog and dew
The fire in her soul begins to raze
Caught up in a world of fog and haze
Confused, frightened; family she craves
She bolts at the blast from the locomotive’s horn!
Heavy fog is dissipating during this phase
And she realizes now, a new day has dawn!
