Transmutation Contest hosted by Unseeking Seeker  *  December 9, 2023

In human form I was born. In human frame I will stay, but for some other species, life doesn't transpire that way. A wiggly caterpillar transmutes into a wondrous creature when it emerges with beautiful wings as its best feature. I can't begin to imagine myself in an altered physical form and have my atoms rearranged, deviated from the norm. I wonder... if I entered another realm, in the spiritual sense, would I cast shadows or auras of light in bright effulgence? For the transfigured mind of my heart to be in mutual accord, first it must surrender the resident ego to receive its reward. Once I perceived answers to the bounty of questions asked, could I be transmuted again, or would my future be masked? Is it likely that my state of 'being' will be something to resist and query in what physiological sentience could I feasibly exist? I seek clarification about what happens in life as a transmutation. Is it even something I could fathom, given a plausible explanation? I don't wish to become a frog from tadpole, and egg hatched, because to my human body, I have become rather attached. First, I'd inquire if there is a reversion process after mutation that would rescind metamorphosis through a surgical ablation.

You have raised some profound questions about transmutation and have come up with wise observations. As you are attached to your body, you don't wish to have a bodily transmutation as a chrysalis being formed into a butterfly. For transfiguring the mind , the most essential requirement you see is casting ego from one's mind. If it is possible, one reaches the state of transmutation. Very intelligent broodings on a deep subject, Lin. A great entry for the contest.

You have put some thought and interesting ideas into this one Lin...quite spellbinding and captivating...wrapped up in your usual clever way with words. Would be good to try transmuting...so long as there was a revert button. Take care...

Kiss a frog and it turns into a prince but does it still eat flies? A great entry for the contest my friend.

Honestly, Sara I was unsure where to go but once I started writing it began to make sense. Thanks so much for your kind reaction.

This cute, wondrous poem brings attention to those poor animals whose lives are changed in a cocoon. I don't think you would like it. Remember, some insects don't have mouths, so eating is out of the question. It wouldn't be for me.

It uses that type of mutation or metamorphosis to relate how it would take place in humans. Thank you, Hilda.
