Transition

As summer grudgingly gives way And autumn has crossed the doorway Many changes are on their way Though they are not for long to stay Mild wind blows in whispering hum As summer grudgingly gives way Leaves will change into red and brown In time they will fall one by one Maple's a grand sight to relish That eyes can never relinquish! As summer grudgingly gives way In beautiful dress, Earth arrives Autumn tightens its strangling grip Blizzards blow in mightier sweep The trees are stripped off all their leaves As summer grudgingly gives way August.16.2022 ~ Placed Sixth~ Hint of Autumn Poetry Contest Sponsor- Regina McIntosh

Transition is a word I have have loved in my life. There are so many reasons for this. Perhaps, I will tell you later. "grudgingly gives way"... You are an English professor and doctor. I am not able to write like you. Congratulations!

Chris, whenever I read your poems, I wish I could write like you. Please don't be under the impression that I have a doctorate. When I got into College as a lecturer, PHD was not mandatory. But now it is. Besides, poetry has nothing to do with one's academic qualifications. Thank you for your appreciation.

I enjoyed the sense of moving through the transition with the season in your poem, Valsa. the imagery was stimulating and the words uplifting. Life does go in cycles and we all must participate as they change. Thanks for sharing your thoughts through your beautiful poetry my friend. Blessings, Bill

Valsa, your guatern is vividly descriptive and expressive. Nature does her best work in mid-fall when the colors are changing. Janice
